Hanumangarh, Rajasthan is burning! Farmers have launched a massive attack on Dune Ethanol Private Limited’s under-construction 40 MW grain-based ethanol plant in Rathi Kheda, Tibbi. Thousands of farmers – including hundreds of women – broke the factory wall, stormed inside, set the office on fire, and clashed with police. In return, police fired tear gas shells and did brutal lathi-charge. Congress MLA Abhimanyu Poonia got serious head injuries and needed stitches.
