Tata Motors has finally revealed its premium hatchback, the Altroz, at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. It is based on the 45X concept that was first shown at the 2018 Auto Expo and is Tata’s answer to the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo. The Altroz will be launched in India sometime in mid-2019 and is the first car from Tata Motors to be underpinned by the ALFA-ARC platform. As of now, it is only available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 102PS of max power and 140Nm of torque. A diesel engine is in the works but there is no word on when it will be available. An EV version of the Altroz has also been showcased by Tata Motors at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show which has a range of more than 300km. The EV will be launched in India sometime in 2020.
