I hope everything is having a great weekend! I got my hands on another f250 superduty truck this time I have the 7.3L godzilla gas engine in the truck. I figrued it would awesome to compare this large displacement gas engine in the f250 to the diesel 6.7 Powerstroke

the first reason why I wanted to do this comparison is because ford developed this big gas engine to compete with the 6.7L powerstroke when it came to towing mid level weighs (10k-15k)

Now ford did this because of the issues associated with modern diesel engine. they wanted to give their customers a reliable gas engine option that did not have to deal with emission regulation and the reliability issues that came along with them.

So I have the same trailer loaded with the same weight. and I drive this Godzilla down the highway and talk about the power, we do acceleration tests and compare it to the 6.7 powerstroke. I talk about fuel economy of this 7.3L engine when towing.

this 7.3L gas does get a boost when it comes to gearing. you can get 4.30 gears available which does greatly help when towing, you get the same 10 speed tranmission which again really helps keep this engine in the power band.
