Tried a fully automatic Litchi ( beta ) mission with my DJI Mini 2 over water today.
Yes it was squeaky bum time!!!
Things didn’t go according to plan….
What shows on the Litchi Mission page, what showed up on the Google Earth Virtual Mission and what actually happened are quite different.
Using the Litchi Mission hub I plotted a mission to start at 50’ with the camera pointing up the loch to the left. The height was then supposed to increase to 65’ about half way across and remain at that height until approaching the end of the mission where it would gradually descend.
During the crossing I had selected numerous Points of Interest so that the camera pans across the loch towards the lighthouse and locks onto that as it circles the lighthouse.
On the return journey on it’s approach to the beach it was supposed to lock onto a point of interest that is a submerged rock.
The turning is not as smooth as when I manually rotate the Mini 2.
Cruising speed was 10mph with the lighthouse orbit supposed to be at 5mph.
The best laid plans……
PS. Ignore the video quality. I wasn’t interested in that today. It was purely a test to see Litchi in full auto mode.
