I honestly didn't know anything about the current reality of Portland, Oregon before visiting. I had no expectations, but I was completely blindsided by what I witnessed. Originally, I planned to do a full Portland walking tour, but the situation on the ground changed my plans. In many areas, I simply didn't feel safe carrying and filming with a professional camera.
That is why the majority of this video is a "Virtual Tour" recorded from the safety of a car window. This is my immediate and raw reaction to the state of the city in 2025. I was absolutely astonished by the pervasive sight of tents, visible homelessness, and what felt like a general lack of control or authority.
