On 16 October 2024, Thom Mayne delivered a lecture at L.A. Louver on his latest body of work and the line of conceptual and material investigation leading to the exhibition 'Thom Mayne: Shaping Accident.'
Presented in official participation of the Getty's landmark initiative PST ART: Art & Science Collide, 'Shaping Accident' investigates the philosophical intersections of impermanence and materiality and demonstrates how technology – at the frontiers of computer language and object-creation – can reframe and readdress timeless questions at the essence of artmaking.
'Thom Mayne: Shaping Accident' is on view at L.A. Louver, 18 September - 2 November 2024.
