SHINY PALDEAN TAUROS (BLAZE BREED) - DO NOT Do A Mass Outbreak - Paldea Shiny-Living Dex 75/108

Blaze Breed and Aqua Breed Palean Tauros are some of the hardest Pokémon to shiny hunt in Scarlet and Violet due to how they spawn and how Mass Outbreaks work.

This was played in V1.2 of the game. With Pokémon with multiple forms like Tauros, Tatsugiri, and Squawkabilly, regardless of what form is shown in a Mass Outbreak on the map, the Mass Outbreak will always spawn the default form of that Pokémon - Tauros (Combat Breed), Tatsugiri (Curly Form), Squawkabilly (Green Plumage), etc.

So what I learned from trying a Tauros Mass Outbreak, even though it said on the map the form was Blaze Breed, even after making a Sparkling Power Level 3 sandwich, Combat Breed was still the form predominately spawning. The occasional Blaze Breed that would spawn here would have shiny odds of 1/512 after knocking out 60 in the Mass Outbreak, and making a Sparkling Power Level 3 sandwich while owning the Shiny Charm.

If you ran far enough away from the Outbreak, packs of Tauros would spawn like normal as they would usually do outside a Mass Outbreak, and, if you had a sandwich with Encounter Power going, if it was Fire in Scarlet, or Water in Violet, that pack of Tauros would always spawn the version exclusive Blaze or Aqua, with the shiny odds being 1/683.

I had tried hunting Aqua Breed Tauros in two other streams before this one to no luck, while this was my first attempt at hunting Blaze Breed Tauros.

Thankfully I found the shiny Blaze Breed Tauros within three sandwiches! Only Aqua Breed remains.

To summarise, a Mass Outbreak will have better odds but you'd be lucky to spawn one or two Blaze or Aqua Breed Tauros every minute, while hunting it without a Mass Outbreak will give you slightly worse shiny odds, but you are encountering probably two or three every 15 seconds.
