Road Trip: Karlovac to Zagreb Over Pokuplje and Turopolje - Central Croatia - 4K UHD Virtual Travel

Road trip from Karlovac to Zagreb by taking side roads in the countryside of Central Croatia, specifically the regions of Pokuplje and Turopolje. Central Croatia (also known as Croatia proper) is a historical region of Croatia which refers to territories around Zagreb. It is located between Slavonia in the east and the Adriatic Sea in the southwest. Pokuplje and Turopolje, showcased by the video, are located to the south and southwest of Zagreb and are quite picturesque regions defined by rivers Kupa, Sava and Odra with lots of wooded areas, agricultural lands and old villages which thankfully still preserve some of the traditional old wooden houses.

The region is a valuable refuge for wild birds, especially storks who enjoy living close to human settlements as you can see from numerous nests on telephone poles and roofs, all maintained and protected by residents proud of their stork neighbors. It is also a home for a population of rare brown eagles who inhabit the wooded areas - at one point we even passed one such eagle, curiously standing on the ground by a forest road.
