1991年の新宿襲撃以来、33年ぶりに新宿新都心エリアにゴジラが出現。大パニックに陥る庁舎内。33年の時を経て現れたゴジラは想定をはるかに超えるパワーで都庁を破壊。東京都はゴジラを迎撃するために極秘裏に開発を進めていたゴジラ迎撃用専用機「スーパーX２改」をスクランブルさせ、ゴジラ迎撃を図る…。果たして「ゴジラ」対「スーパーX2改」の闘いのゆくえはどうなるのか…。そして、救世主は現れるのか…。

・100メートルサイズのゴジラが目の前に出現
史上最大スケールのプロジェクションマッピングだからこそ表現できる、実物大のゴジラが都庁を破壊し、目の前に現れる。これまで誰も見たことが無い、ゴジラのリアルを全身で体感できます！

・平成VSシリーズのゴジラスーツを使用
本作に登場するのは、“平成VSシリーズ”で登場した、高さ100メートルのゴジラ。今回のプロジェクションマッピングで登場するゴジラは、平成VSシリーズのゴジラスーツを用いて実写撮影し、特撮とCGを組み合わせてコンテンツを作りあげました。都庁舎壁面に、実物大のスケールで投影された大迫力のゴジラが、「スーパーX2改」を相手に見せる大立ち回りは必見です！

・ゴジラと新宿のつながり
昨年公開されたゴジラ生誕70周年記念作品『ゴジラ-1.0』や、国内では4月26日に公開となった『ゴジラxコング　新たなる帝国』がそれぞれ世界中で大ヒットするなど、ゴジラは日本が誇る世界的人気コンテンツです。新宿エリアや都庁舎はそんなゴジラと深い所縁のあるスポットです。

『ゴジラ』（1984）では西新宿を舞台に、超兵器「スーパーＸ」がゴジラを迎え撃ち、激戦を繰り広げました。また、『ゴジラVSキングギドラ』（1991） では劇中に都庁第一本庁舎が登場。ゴジラとメカキングギドラの激闘で大ダメージを受け、印象的なシーンを盛り上げました。
2015年には、新宿区歌舞伎町に全高12ｍのゴジラヘッドが誕生し、ゴジラは新宿観光特使に任命されました。

・「ゴジラ」とは
我々の前に姿を現して以来、その名を世界に轟かせている怪獣王。
1954年に公開されたシリーズ第１作目は観客動員数961万人という空前の大ヒットを記録。以来、日本国内だけで30本以上の映画が製作され、シリーズ累計の観客動員数は1億人を突破。現在に至るまで、老若男女問わず、幅広い人気と圧倒的な知名度を誇る。人智を超えた存在として描かれてきたゴジラは、時に人間が乗り越えるべき壁として、時に人間の味方としてスクリーンで活躍。作品のテーマに各時代の世相を反映させながら、その時代を生きる人々を魅了してきた。

その人気は海を越えて、ハリウッドでも実写映画化されており、ハリウッド版新作『ゴジラxコング　新たなる帝国』は北米をはじめ世界各地で大ヒットを記録。

■Using the Godzilla suit from the Heisei VS series
The 100-meter tall Godzilla from the "Heisei VS Series" will appear in this projection mapping. The Godzilla in the projection mapping was filmed using the Godzilla suit from the Heisei VS series, and the content was created by combining special effects and computer graphics. The powerful Godzilla, projected on the wall of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building on a life-size scale, will make a great stand against the "Super X2 Kai" and is a must-see!

■The connection between Godzilla and Shinjuku
In "Godzilla" (1984), the super-weapon "Super X" intercepted Godzilla in a fierce battle in Nishi-Shinjuku. In "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah" (1991), the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1 appeared in the film. It was severely damaged in the fierce battle between Godzilla and Mecha King Ghidorah, adding to the impressive scene.
In 2015, a 12-meter-tall Godzilla head was created in Kabukicho, Shinjuku-ku, and Godzilla was appointed as a special envoy for Shinjuku tourism.
