Wessex Archaeology presents this heritage talk exploring the defensive structures from Roman invasion to the Cold War.
Our speaker is Andy Robertshaw, Lead Historian at the Centre of Military Archaeology (CEMA). He is an author, historian and broadcaster, best known for the Great War, and has been involved in television archaeology from the medieval period to the Second World War. Andy has acted as historical advisor for the films of Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson and Sam Mendes.
Andy stands within a replica WW1 trench system at The Kent Showground, Detling, discusses life within a trench during the first world war and what we can learn from the archaeology. As well as much more!
