City of San Mateo Photo Walk With My Fujifilm X-H2S Camera

This is the first of a series of photo walks shooting stills with my Fujifilm X-H2S and also video with both my Fujifilm X-H2S camera and my DJI OSMO Action 5 Pro camera.

Goal is to do an end to end run to see what a process might look like to produce videos that incorporate POV stills and video as I travel in the local areas and also internationally with a Tokyo trip already booked for late October 2025.

Based upon today's run I now understand what I need to improve for producing my next photo walk video.

I use Adobe Lightroom Classic for editing stills and Davinci Resolve Studio for editing video which incorporates stills.

All still in this first run are straight out of the camera JPG with a couple being tweaked in LRC.

Audio is captured using the DJI Mini Wireless transmitters and receiver.

The Fujifilm X-H2S camera has a 5th generation Stacked layer back illuminated X-Trans CMOS sensor. I'm in the process of building the custom settings I'll use for both stills and video. This test was designed to quickly test the eye tracking focus capability of the Fujifilm X-H2S when shooting at 4K DCI 25 frames per second.

Boasting a resolution of 26.16MP, the sensor uses a unique color filter array, synonymous to X-Trans CMOS sensors, to control moiré and false color without the use of an optical low-pass filter. Thanks to the sensor, the Fujufilm X-H2S has dramatically improved performance, including 40fps blackout-free burst shooting and significantly better AF during burst shooting.

As for video, the Fujifilm X-H2S can record 4K/60P video without cropping and rolling-shutter effect is also greatly improved.
