What is FabLab?

FabLab, from the contraction of Fabrication Laboratory, is a laboratory open to the public, that enables people to design and make all kinds of different objects. Laser cutters, 3D printers and other digital manufacturing tools are available to everyone so that they can bring to life their inventions.
In 2016, the Occitanie/Pyrénées-Méditerranée region became France’s largest Fab Region, thanks to its dynamic policy for the emergence and support of FabLabs in the area.
Calls for Fab Region projects, the FabLab festival and Fab14, the international FabLab summit held in Toulouse in 2018, all illustrate the Occitanie region’s capacity for digital innovation.
