Now, imagine you're Indiana Jones, and you've just discovered an ancient scroll. This scroll is your text. The words are the hidden clues or evidence you need to decipher to uncover the treasure - the meaning of the text.
Let's try it out with an example. We're going to explore the first chapter of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe."
Lucy looks into a wardrobe. She sees winter coats. She keeps walking and feels something crunch under her feet. She looks down and sees that she is standing in the snow.

Direct Evidence: Lucy is in a wardrobe and it's filled with winter coats and snow.

So far so good, right? But remember, an explorer's job isn't done until the treasure is found. Now comes our special skill – interpreting this evidence.

Interpretation: Lucy has found a magical world inside the wardrobe!
