On the 7th October 2025 71000 Duke Of Gloucester would be seen working a loaded test run on the normal Locomotive Services test route from Crewe to Shrewsbury via Chester on the outward and Cosford and Stafford for the return leg. 71000 would be seen on its first run after its repaint into its current livery. 71000 would be seen arriving into Crewe station Platform 12 approximately 15 minutes early. After a 45 minute wait 71000 departed for Chester with the sanders in use to get the train away after slipping. The next shot is Shrewsbury where 71000 would be seen rolling in in preparation for a reversal into Coton Hill where watering would commence in preparation for the return leg back to Crewe. After watering at Coton hill 71000 would be seen accelerating away from Shrewsbury heading for Cosford and Bushbury junction. And finally 71000 would be seen rolling back into Crewe after its trip out on test.
