Montréal-based house Wild Rose and Sparrow lean on romantasy for latest collection

STORYLINE:
Canadian house Wild Rose and Sparrow put on a romantasy-inspired show for their latest spring summer collection titled "Ex Libris" (Latin for "from books") on Thursday.

Set in the sumptuous Mazarine Library in Paris, the collection was split into three chapters: Coven, Chevalière and Sonnet. All three included diaphanous tulle and lacy looks, with the middle section full of more structured silhouettes based on medieval and heraldic imagery, all reminiscent of romantic or fierce heroines of Gothic and Victorian literature.

Colors cycled from enchanting black to innocent white, but included pale orange and darker reds in heavily embroidered fabrics.
