Irae - Promiscuous Fire (full ep, 2025)

Today I am honoured to present an advance stream of forthcoming Signal Rex release, Promiscuous Fire by Irae – long-time Portuguese noisemongerer, and member of the now disbanded Black Circle alongside bands including Mons Veneris and Vetala.

Promiscuous Fire is the 42nd release since the band began ‘spreading the wrath of Satan’ with their first demo in 2003, and subjects the listener to its cruelly-honed and battle-scarred noxious pestilence, carried on a vitally charged momentum of riffs and hostile assault of percussion.

This howling miasma of noise is a sound unique to the Portuguese scene that spans the various collectives across the region, but in Irae, one that is also unique among the area too, taking Scandinavian style second wave, and contorting it into Vulturius’ own vision of a timeless, medieval darkness.

The album releases on 24th January, on digital, CD and cassette tape formats through Signal Rex.
