After paddling through the calm waters of the Waiwera Estuary, we glided under the striking SHI Bridge, a part of the Northern Gateway project, standing tall above us. The bridge marked a blend of nature and engineering, as we passed beneath it, taking in the view of the bridge leading into the Johnstones Hill Tunnels and the surrounding landscape. After the peaceful paddle, we stopped for a picnic by the water's edge, the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sounds of the estuary. The day was a blend of adventure and tranquility, with the bridge overhead and the scenic views all around us, making it a memorable stop on our journey.
