Denver RTD G-Line after One Year, May-June 2020, Denver Regional Transportation District Gold Line!
The inaugural opening of the G-Line took place on Friday, April 26, 2019. Known as the Gold Line for its possible extension along the former Colorado & Southern (BNSF) to Golden at some future date, the 11.2-mile commuter rail line suffered more than two years of delays before officially opening. It was scheduled to open during the Fall of 2016, but was delayed because of grade crossing signal problems with the A and B lines. During this time, empty test trains operated over the eight-stop line to and from Union Station, earning it the nickname Ghost Line. This video documents G-Line service approximately one year after its official opening (and BNSF freight service to Golden).
