Making Resin Scales | Rose Quartz Mermaid Tail #1

What do crystals and mermaids have in common? Not much but I've been wanting to make an individually scaled resin mermaid tail for a while and rose quartz sounds like the perfect theme to go with!

Long time no see!
I took a bit of a break for a few weeks to rest and reset my brain but we're back with resin mermaid scales! I announced that I'm thinking about making a resin (mythic inspired) mermaid tail a few months back and it's time to do it. In this video you can see all the steps I go through when making a batch of scales. From making the silicone moulds through, drilling, filling and glazing the scales.
This process might take a while since it took me 2 weeks to make 168 scales and I need about 3000 of them
sewing time and fluke making time lol So we might be here a while!
But hopefully the tail should be ready before the start of February.

While making my scales I got a new order on Etsy so I wanted to show you that as well! I love packaging my creations, it's so much fun!

I will try my best to make every video a bit different since this process is very repetitive so if you have any suggestions on what you would like to see, feel free to let me know!

*sew few scales onto a piece of fabric to see how they behave,
*trying to find a silicone hardener,
*finish the fluke (make a silicone monofin),
*make some extra silicone fins!
