The purpose of this video is to exhibit the effects of chamfer and deburring the inside of the case neck. Thirty pieces of previously fired brass were trimmed and 15 were chamfer and deburred and the other 15 were not. Three 5-shot groups were shot with the chamfer and deburred brass and another three 5-shot groups were shot with the brass that was not chamfer and deburred. The AMP Press showed very different patterns of seating with the chamfer and deburred brass showing a steady mostly linear seating whereas the other brass showed a sawtooth profile of seating where there was an initial increase in pressure but then a significant decrease followed by an increase. Velocity data did not appear different between chamfer and deburred relative to not chamfer and deburred. Target data suggests that the chamfer and deburred brass showed better groups with all three groups shot in the .1" range whereas the brass that was not chamfer and deburred showed two groups in the .2" and one in the .4" range. It is recommended that you chamfer and deburr the interior of the neck prior to seating brass in brass that was just trimmed.
