Desert Island Vinyl Mix: Bubblegum Dub, Steel Strings & Echoes From Your Inner Island

Broadcasting from the far edges of the summer hemisphere, this is a little smoke-signal transmission from my desert island to yours. Think castaway volleyballs: coconuts, cold drinks, salt-softened days, and sunsoaked delirium. This mix drifts through bubblegum covers, heatwave tropicana, and slow-motion downtempo grooves, the kind of sounds you might hear leaking from a half-buried radio on a forgotten beach.

I recorded this one in my courtyard, my personal island outpost. It’s north-facing, lush, and always whispering to my inner island, usually suggesting I crack a beer and stay awhile. The sky was overcast (vinyl melts...), but even desert islands get cloudy somedays. With any luck, these tunes will break through whatever haze you’re under and guide you toward a little sunshine.
