The Beijing Central Business District (CBD), located in the heart of Chaoyang District, is one of the most dynamic and influential financial and commercial hubs in China. The area boasts more than 50% of the city’s Grade A office buildings and 30% of its five-star hotels. It also hosts 90% of Beijing’s international business exhibitions and 50% of its international conferences, reinforcing its role as a center for global dialogue and commerce.

The Beijing CBD is not just a business hub—it’s a cultural and innovation powerhouse. It ranks seventh globally and second in Asia in the GBD Attractiveness Report, and first in China. The annual Beijing CBD Forum, held for 21 consecutive years, gathers domestic and international experts, business leaders, and policymakers, serving as a stage for economic and trade discussions and a think tank for future development.

In 2025, Beijing is accelerating its ambition to transform the CBD into a CNY-100-billion-level business district. This includes introducing 3,000 first stores by year-end and integrating commerce, tourism, culture, and technology. The city is also developing four international consumption experience zones, with the CBD-Sanlitun zone being a flagship area. Renovation projects like the Zhongguancun upgrade and the expansion of the China International Exhibition Center are underway, alongside the development of demonstration districts that blend shopping, culture, sports, and digital experiences.
