EDS, often referred to as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, is a group of inherited connective tissue disorders that affect the body's tissues, primarily skin, joints, and blood vessels. These conditions are characterized by symptoms like loose joints, stretchy skin, and abnormal scar formation. There are 13 recognized types of EDS, each with unique genetic and clinical features.

Common symptoms of EDS include:
Hypermobile Joints: Joints that are overly flexible and can be easily dislocated or subluxated.
Stretchy Skin: Skin that is more flexible than normal and may tear easily.
Fragile Skin: Skin that bruises easily and forms abnormal scars.
Chronic Pain: Joint and muscle pain that can be persistent and debilitating.
Fatigue: Feeling of extreme tiredness that can be persistent.
Other Symptoms: Some types of EDS may also be associated with other symptoms, such as digestive problems, heart valve issues, and cognitive difficulties.

Key features of different types of EDS:
Classical EDS: Characterized by stretchy skin, fragile skin, and atrophic (sunken) scars.
Hypermobile EDS: Primarily characterized by joint hypermobility, with possible skin hyperextensibility.
Vascular EDS: Characterized by fragile blood vessels, which can lead to aneurysms and other complications.
