In this video, I’ll show you step by step how to crochet a beautiful Elegant Ruffle Dog (or Any Animal) Sweater.
This pattern is worked from the neck down in one piece, with soft layered ruffles and a delicate shell edge that adds an elegant finishing touch. You can easily adjust this design to fit pets of all sizes, from small dogs and cats to even guinea pigs or rabbits! ✨
I’m making this sweater for my own dog, and here are her exact measurements so you can see how I adjusted the pattern:
Neck circumference: 25 cm / 9.8 in
Neck length: 5 cm / 2 in
Chest (between legs): 5 cm / 2 in
Front length: 5 cm / 2 in
Total back length: 31 cm / 12.2 in
Materials I used in this tutorial:
YarnArt Jeans, color 03 and 65 (Fine 2)
4.0 mm crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker
Gauge: 10 × 10 cm (4 × 4 in) = 19 dc × 11 rows
This pattern uses US crochet terms (ch, dc, sl st, tr, fpdc, bpdc).
