Rotary valves in ROTAX engines were used for many years in multiple BRP products. Can-Am bikes, Ski-Doo snowmobiles and Sea-Doo personal watercraft used ROTAX engines with rotary valve technology. (Not to be confused with rotary engines which are completely different) This method for precisely controlling air/fuel mixture timing into the engine was a very successful technology. Phil pulled these well oiled donor engines to show us the rotary valve that is hidden behind the carburetors.
