Junkyard Jive! (Dr. Kahl's Robot) - Black & White, Vintage Mode, S-rank

While this boss is definitely on the harder side of the fights, I have to admit that I didn't suffer THAT much with him during my first playthrough (I've mentioned several times already that the first boss to actually stress me out was Grim's. God Bless).
It does f*ck you up at the beginning though, specially when you are learning how to approach the first phase.

The robot's design, of course, has a million inspirations: "Mickey's Mechanical Man", "Donald Duck: Modern Inventions", "Betty Boop's Crazy Inventions" and "Bimbo: The Robot". All these animated shorts are on Youtube (I checked!).

Also, Dr. Kahl is inspired by every evil doctor in a videogame ever made (like Dr. Wily and Dr. Robotnik). He's also named after Milt Kahl, a Disney animator!
There's so much more to this boss fight (has elements of Truxton, Sonic, Gunstar Heroes), I highly recommend reading in a wiki or in the Concept Art Book if you can get it (it's VERY good).

Btw, if you want to beat this in B&W, and you parry the diamonds like I did, you will have to make sure that you are parrying during the "blue diamond" phase, because the parryable ones stand out the most. I couldn't tell apart the pink ones from the red ones in this mode, so that's the only viable option. Alternatively, you can get three parries in the first phase. I just never do that because I want it to end asap.

PS: I dedicate this video to one of my closest friends. She's a huge sci-fi & Asimov fan and the vibes of this fight definitely fit her. Thank you for tolerating hours of me talking about my favourite game.
