In this video, I show you what's so special about Oso Flaco Lake, part of the Ocean Dunes State Vehicular Recreational Area in southern San Luis Obispo county, California.
There's a 1.25 mile trail that takes you from the parking lot at the park entrance all the way to the beach and the Pacific Ocean... and it's about the easiest "trail" you'll ever walk because the majority of the way it's a very easy-to-walk boardwalk path.
I'm embarrassed to admit that it took me 45 years after I first came to the San Luis Obispo area before I decided to check out Oso Flaco Lake for myself. In fact, what really motivated me to visit Oso Flaco now was the fact that I'm moving out of California soon to spend my retirement years up in Washington state... so I knew that it was either visit now, or never visit Oso Flaco Lake at all. I'm glad I had a few free hours to make the short trip. It was definitely worth it, and also worth the $5 state park day use fee.
Be aware that dogs are NOT allowed in the park or on the trail, due to wildlife conservation measures in this area.
If you've watched a lot of my videos, you might notice that something's not quite normal about the audio on this particular video. As I said, I'm moving soon... and the day before I made this video, I thought I was all done making videos until after the move... so I packed up all my best audio production equipment. Rather than un-pack it all to make this video, and then have to re-pack it again, I decided to use some other audio equipment in making this video. I can definitely hear the difference, and I bet you can, too. Well, it just goes to show that the "good stuff" that I normally use in producing my videos makes a significant quality difference!
