DreamWorks' Not-TERRIBLE Shrek Movie...

Forget Shrek 5, we're returning back to the very original Shrek Movie today as we highlight some of the BESTs of DreamWorks in the early-2000s. And though coming from a similar sense of desperation from the studio, the end result of the first Shrek movie is one that contends as one of the best animated features of all time. Masterfully finding a balance of parody and sincerity. Critique of their rival in Disney, whilst emotive and special all by itself. A movie that was at first a doomed punishment for outcasted animators, now became the figurehead of the studio as a whole. And a shadow the company is once again reviving for the latest hit of relevancy. But where Shrek 5 already has the red flags of a typical modern pitfall of a movie, let's see just what it is that made DreamWorks' Shrek 1 so AMAZING as an original.
