Winston the Dachshund competes with big dogs, Bandit plays with Miss Red, the Cavaliers love the mud

We begin our day with an early play inside, Bandit and Miss Red. Always giving attention to the vulnerable little ones, good on you Bandit.

It was a wet and muddy day so the key is to not stop for long. And there are dogs that let us know if we’re going too slow … Milo of course … and Ariel the Cavalier keeps us on track regularly.

Luke talks about Cavalier sisters Minnie and Ariel. Simply because they make us smile every rainy day they’re here. Protesters at home to toileting when the grass is wet, these little rebels transform into true farm dogs when the rain hits their coats at the farm. Mud? The more the better in their eyes. It not only gives us a laugh, we know their mum thinks it’s amusing too … so here you go Mumma!

If there was a man of the match given out, or a dog of the day … I just can’t go past Winston the Mini Dachshund. He continues to revel in being amongst the big dogs. True to the Dashies competitive spirit, he just can’t have those big doggies have one over him. Even if it’s in the water. Well actually it seems more so I’m the water! Hoping you can see him when the big ball hits the dam, he leaps in after it. Then again in the pool right in amongst it, shoulder to shoulder with a big Rottweiler and Labrador … no care … just wants to be a part of it. Well done Winston! Also a good example of a good swimmer requiring the use of a life jacket. For those that often ask why they wear them. Winston is a dog that we would always out one on in amongst a big pack. Simply because he’s small and he doesn’t shy away from the intense activities.

At the end of the day we shared a birthday cake with Freddy. Freddy already had his mud pawty … but we’ll these are the perks when your mum works in the kitchen at the farm! 🤣 No one was complaining either! Happy happy happy birthday to you Freddy!
