↣ the story
Éile and Morgana used to be the closest of friends - inseperable. But Morgana fell into darkness to claim a queendom, destroying Éile's life in the process. Years later, Éile vows to find Morgana and enact her revenge, even it means she dies trying. Elendil, her adoptive father, urges caution.

Meanwhile, Morgana is warned of threats by Godwyn, her closest advisor. Morgana is lonely and wondered if the choices she made were the right ones.

Éile surges on, recruiting other old friends Francesca and Guinevere to help. Rhaenyra, who calls herself friend to both Morgana and Éile, warns Morgana of following down this dark path and tries to get her to see reason. Elendil encourages Guinevere, his daughter, to help Éile.

Godwyn contacts Éile saying he can help her get close to Morgana - he's playing both sides. Éile worries about the danger, but Francesca and Guinevere convince her they have to do this together. Rhaenyra gives Éile her blessing to carry out her mission, now seeing no other option.

Elendil tries to get to Morgana first to protect Éile, and he's injured. Guinevere takes her father's place as Morgana's captive, but Éile and Elendil are also captured. They escape, and Éile battles Morgana, but Rhaenyra stands in the way - when it comes to it, she doesn't want to see Morgana get hurt.

Later, the group break into Morgana's hideout. A battle ensues, but at its climax, Morgana remembers. She was captured and tortured by Godwyn, who aimed to use her as his puppet. Godwyn stabs Morgana and she dies. Godwyn is arrested. The others mourn Morgana, wishing they'd got to her sooner, that they'd tried to understand her.
