অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারকে নির্বাচনের পথে আনতে শিগগিরই রাজপথে নামবে বিএনপি। প্রেসক্লাবে এক আলোচনা সভায় দলের স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য সালাহউদ্দিন আহমদ জানান, বিএনপি'র সেই উদ্যোগ আন্দোলন বা সরকারের সমালোচনারই অংশ। গণহত্যার জন্য সংগঠন হিসেবে আওয়ামী লীগের বিচারে সরকার এখনও কোনো পদক্ষেপ না নেয়ায় ক্ষোভ জানান তিনি। একই অনুষ্ঠানে গণঅধিকার পরিষদের নুরুল হক নূর বলেন, নির্বাচিত সরকার ছাড়া বর্তমান পরিস্থিতিতে দেশ পরিচালনা সম্ভব নয়।

যতক্ষণ না আওয়ামী লীগ গণহত্যা, হত্যাকাণ্ড এবং প্রকাশ্য দুর্নীতির জন্য ক্ষমা না চাইবে এবং যতক্ষণ না তাদের অন্যায়কারী নেতাকর্মীরা বিচার ব্যবস্থার কাছে আত্মসমর্পণ করে তাদের অপরাধের জন্য বিচারকার্যের প্রক্রিয়া শুরু করে ততক্ষণ পর্যন্ত তাদের বিক্ষোভ করার অনুমতি দেওয়া হবে না। নিজের ভ্যারিফায়েড ফেসবুক পেইজ থেকে দেয়া পোস্টে এ কথা জানান প্রধান উপদেষ্টার প্রেস সচিব শফিকুল আলম।

He expressed anger that the government has not yet taken any steps to prosecute the Awami League as an organization for genocide. At the same event, Nurul Haque Noor of the People's Rights Council said that it is not possible to run the country in the current situation without an elected government.

Until the Awami League apologizes for the genocide, murder and open corruption and until its wrongdoing leaders and activists surrender to the justice system and start the trial process for their crimes, they will not be allowed to protest. Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary of the chief advisor, said this in a post on his verified Facebook page.
