The art of crochet dates back approximately three thousand years ago from the deserts of Arabia. It then followed the Arab trade routes to Sicily and other Mediterranean destinations during the ninth century.

Sicilian crochet has been known under the name of “nun's work” or “nun's lace”, where it was worked by nuns for church textiles.

Crochet is one of the most time consuming trades ever and only a few Sicilian people continue practicing this ancient tradition.
The few artisans, who continue the art to hook, make true masterpieces using amazing crochet Sicilian patterns.

All Daniela's crochet clothes are wholly produced and manufactured in Sicily with organic cotton or organic Merino chlorine-free wool.
She uses only high quality Made in Italy cotton or wool to make bags, sweaters, cardigan sweaters, scarves, ties, beanies, scarves, shawls, gloves, earrings, necklaces, doilies, coasters, service plates, key chains, and last but not least a huge collection of crochet baby items.

She also made a collection of traditional Sicilian jewelry inspired by the vintage art of “chiaccherino”, an authentic Sicilian crochet enriched by beautiful gems.
