This ride at Jilliby was supposed to be a cruisy mix of single trail and exploring… until the track we were following dropped us straight into Santa’s Little Helper.
Last time I rode this trail, I crashed and broke my handlebars, so riding it again definitely gave me a chance to redeem myself. Santa’s Little Helper is a steep, sketchy descent into a creek with ruts, roots, rocks and no easy way out. The only way out is an even nastier climb straight back up the other side.
We didn’t need to go down there but we did and it made for good fun.
Part 1 covers the whole descent, the fight out of the valley, and then heading toward Narnia, which will be in Part 2 next week.
