A story of courage, camaraderie, and sacrifice – discover the official trailer of the documentary “The Battle of Ronsele: The Eighteen-Day Campaign.”

This documentary was born from the belief that remembering and commemorating remain essential.
We pay tribute to the Belgian soldiers who fought — often at the cost of their lives — during the battles at the Schipdonkkanaal in May 1940, for our freedom.

With unique archival footage, historical reconstructions, interviews, and re-enactments, we bring this forgotten chapter of our history back to life.
We show not only the battles, but also the people behind the uniforms: their courage, their camaraderie, their sacrifice.

The documentary is a collaboration between Emmanuel Stockman and Jonathan Willems.
Emmanuel shares his years of knowledge about the May 1940 campaign and countless testimonies from former soldiers.
Jonathan brings the story to life visually with his footage — as cameraman and editor, with attention to detail and respect for history.
