Today I filmed a large troop of stump-tailed macaques again - probably the same troop that I've filmed in this area on previous occasions. They were feeding by the roadside on a variety of food plants including an invasive legume species whose beans are toxic. It appears that overconsumption of these beans has caused hair loss in a number of individuals in this troop. Stump-tailed macaques are sometimes affectionately known as 'Stumpies', and sometimes not so affectionately as 'Ugly Monkeys'.

I film most of my Thailand Wild clips in 8K and export them in 4K, so for best viewing I strongly recommend watching them on a TV rather than a phone, preferably a 4K TV.
