"我们走在大路上" - Chinese Revolutionary Song (We Walk on a Great Road)

The "Three Red Banners" was a refers to the (former) three tenants of socialism in China: the General Line of Socialist Construction, the Great Leap Forward, and the People's Communes.

"我们走在大路上"/"Wǒmen zǒu zài dà lùshàng" ("We Are Walking on a Great Road," also sometimes translated as "We Are Marching on a Great Road", specifically in the English version) is a Chinese communist song written in 1963 during the Great Leap Forward. The song was written to inspire hope to the Chinese workers who struggling under the harsh conditions that came about as a result of the rapid industrialization and shifts to Chinese society. After the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution ignited in 1967, the songs lyrics were revised to better suit the time period, speaking more of Chairman Mao and his leadership. After Chairman Mao's death in 1976, the song was banned for a short while, before being reintroduced with completely modified lyrics, removing all mentions of Chairman Mao and shifting focus to patriotism.
Digitized from the 1965 record "革命歌曲十三首" (Thirteen Revolutionary Songs), but because the record is so old, the audio quality isn't as good as others. I decided to upload it without cleaning it first, as it sounds better this way (in my opinion), but sorry if the crackling is annoying.
