So... it's been a while since I uploaded a video about the V10 swap. I pulled the motor and put it on an engine stand because I found a rocker floating around the left side valve cover, which means if 1 roller failed, there are 29 other opportunities for failure. Now I have to buy a set of roller followers and maybe a left side camshaft to repair the engine. While on the stand I swapped the plugs and it was obvious they had never been replaced since Ford remanufactured the engine in 2012. Additionally, since my last video I completed the transmission repairs to my 2002 F-350, so it's back on the road. The radiator went bad, contaminated the transmission oil, and took out the transmission and torque converter. ATS Diesel offered to rebuild the transmission out of warranty at no cost to me, which was a huge blessing! All in it cost me about $1500 to repair the truck because a cheap radiator failed. As luck would have it, the only radiator I could get (AutoZone supplied 2 defective radiators prior, guess 3rd time was a charm) was identical to the one that failed (common supplier), so I bypassed the cooler in this one so only the external 26 row cooler is used. It's impossible to contaminate the ATF with coolant now. That's my update on the projects over the last couple months.
