We took a fantastic drive on a gravel road along the beach at Bamboesbaai, just before we arrived in Doringbaai. This is a quaint place on the west coast of South Africa. We were able to drive right up to where boats are launched and also to the lighthouse. As we left the lighthouse, we saw where they farmed with abalone. An interesting fact is that South Africa has become the largest abalone producer outside of Asia. This project was started because of the excessive abalone poaching and the high prices in the market. This is information I did not know. Then it was time to start heading home again.
