Many Christians wonder if joy is supposed to be constant in the Christian life and what it means when it isn’t. In Psalm 6, David brings his exhaustion and fear directly to God, and Pastor Andy shows from his prayer how grief, weakness, and waiting fit into a life of true faith. This message is for believers who feel worn down and don’t know how to pray anymore. It’s for those who are weary, confused, or discouraged, and who need to hear again that God’s steadfast love does not fail.

The thumbnails for the book of Psalms are based on the picture given to us in Psalm 1 of the righteous man’s “being like a tree planted by streams of water” (v. 3 ESV). As Pastor Andy mentioned in his first message on the book of Psalms, “some traditions regard Psalm 2 as Psalm 1 and Psalm 1 as the preface to the whole book.” It is thus fitting that the series thumbnails should portray this image, for teaching throughout the Psalms will serve towards keeping us firmly rooted in God's Word.
