The prestressed carbon fiber winding technology is developed based on the previous prestressed wire-steel winding method, which is widely used in the fields of hydraulic machine and extruding container manufacturing. This technology is aim to strengthen the cylinder by prestressed winding at the outside to optimize the stress distribution in the course of job. With the widely application of the prestressed wire-steel winding, the poor performance in creep resistance of wire-steel became the bottleneck under high-temperature conditions. The carbon fiber was chose to replace it for its excellent performance of light weight, high temperature resistance and creep resistance. However, there are still two issues with prestressed composite jackets: the elastic constants mismatch between the steel substrate and the prestressed composite jacket, and the method of tensioning the high-strength but friable carbon fiber. This paper separately designed the prestressed winding machine for the carbon fiber and analysis the winding process with different coefficient of elasticity of materials. At last, comparing the results of winding process by theoretical analysis, FEM and winding machine experience proved the prestressed carbon fiber winding technology successfully applied.
