The largest and most utilized lock at the Soo has been drained of over 70 million gallons of water. With the locks closed for what is usually an icy winter, the Army Corps of Engineers uses this time to repair the lock. Great Lakes Now multimedia producer Ric Mixter was invited to tour the locks as the maintenance is being performed and he shares that sometimes crew have to get on their hands and knees to repair this crucial waterway.
