The accusations against DP Ruto allegedly being too temperamental to lead the country come from a leaked audio file where Ruto is heard allegedly disclosing to others that he was on the verge of slapping President Uhuru Kenyatta after the nullification of the Presidential Results in 2017 because Uhuru was claimed to have almost given up on a re-run.
Here is a section of that clip recorded at a meeting between Ruto and Kikuyu elders from Kiambu on Friday 1st July 2022.
