Perón Ibañez (Justicialist Song)

🇪🇸•LA UNIÓN CHILENO-ARGENTINA

Para graficar la cercanía entre Chile y Argentina, Perón decidió que su primer viaje al extranjero como mandatario sería… Santiago de Chile, pero antes tenía preparado una sorpresa: planear la unión chileno-argentina.

En la previa a su viaje a Chile, los primeros días de febrero de 1953, el mandatario transandino dio varias entrevistas a medios chilenos, para “calentar” su arribo a la capital chilena.

Una de esas fue a José Dolores Vázquez, director del diario La Nación de Chile, con quien mantenía un especial vínculo.
Relajado, Perón sorprendió al mundo al plantear la génesis de una nueva nación: Los Estados Unidos Hispanoamericanos, para hacer contrapeso a EEUU y que esta nueva nación debería nacer de la unión de Chile y Argentina.

Ante su visita a Chile, Perón fue claro: “Iré a proclamar la unión indestructible entre Chile y Argentina. La unidad que no hicieron O’Higgins y San Martín la pueden hacer Ibáñez y Perón (…) El pueblo chileno comprenderá”.

🇬🇧•THE CHILEAN-ARGENTINE UNION

To illustrate the closeness between Chile and Argentina, Perón decided that his first trip abroad as president would be… Santiago de Chile, but beforehand he had a surprise prepared: planning the Chilean-Argentine union.

Before his trip to Chile, the first days of February 1953, the trans-Andean president gave several interviews to Chilean media, to “warm up” his arrival in the Chilean capital.

One of those went to José Dolores Vázquez, director of the Chilean newspaper La Nación, with whom he had a special bond. Relaxed, Perón surprised the world by raising the genesis of a new nation: The United States of Hispanic America, to counterbalance the USA and that this new nation should be born from the union of Chile and Argentina.

Before his visit to Chile, Perón was clear: “I will go to proclaim the indestructible union between Chile and Argentina. The unity that O'Higgins and San Martín did not make can be made by Ibáñez and Perón (…) The Chilean people will understand ”.
