Although it might appear morbid, exploring old cemeteries can be really enjoyable and educational. The Toowong Cemetery is a 57 hectare site containing over 115,000 graves and is one of the oldest cemeteries in the Brisbane area. After spending a couple of hours wandering this peaceful place we came to the conclusion that although some people had long lives and others short ones, the most important thing is to make the years in between the dates (birth and death) count.
We roughly followed a walk laid out by Alison Cotes in her book "Walking Brisbane" published by New Holland Publishers Pty Ltd in 2017.
During the walk we discovered Greek and Russian Orthodox graves, Jewish graves and some of the founding settlers of Brisbane.

Difficulty - Moderately Easy, although it's a hilly walk, the presence of paved paths make it accessible to most and there are seating areas scattered throughout.
