President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. lauds the Manila City Government for creating a housing model that gives residents access to vital services during the inauguration of the San Lazaro Residences in Santa Cruz, City of Manila on November 27, 2025.
The Chief Executive highlights Manila’s Urban Housing Ordinance and robust collaboration between the national and local governments.
Led by the City Government of Manila, this 20-storey socialized in-city vertical housing project was financed with a Php1.9 billion loan from the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), out of an approved Php2 billion budget. Each floor has about 25 units, totaling 382 units. Each unit measures 40 square meters and includes two (2) bedrooms, a living and dining area, a kitchen, and a toilet and bath.
Of these, 193 units are allocated to Manila Health Department employees, while 189 are reserved for indigent city residents and government employees with a salary grade not exceeding 18. These units will be raffled off to qualified applicants.
