China Launches “Taiwan Capture” Drills in Message to the Philippines | From The Frontline

This week China launched live-fire drills around Taiwan. These drills included hundreds of warships and fighter jets that violated Taiwan’s airspace and maritime boundaries. Meanwhile, Taiwan responded the Chinese deployment with its own jets and ships. However, China also increased pressure using non-conventional methods. Beijing released an animated video of Taiwan showing Taiwanese President Lai Ching-Te as a “parasitic worm.” China often refers to Taiwanese President Lai Ching-Te as a “separatist” but this time have called him a “parasite.” This comes after US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth accused China of aggressive actions in the Taiwan Strait. Hegseth also visited Japan and the Philippines where he pledged more American Support for the region.
