Episode 40: Curves, Copper & Cool Machines – Particle Accelerators Arrive! ⚡️🌀
It’s a shorter one today, but still packed with satisfying progress as we move one step closer to Nuclear Pasta. The copper powder line gets some love with a bit of layout magic and our first taste of terrain-driven design!
This episode is all about refining the flow—literally and figuratively—as we:
Use curved pipes to work with the terrain instead of against it (and wow does it look nice).
Do a little load balancing magic to make sure all our refineries and smelters stay smooth and efficient.
And finally, place my favorite machine in the game: the Particle Accelerator. It’s big, it's dramatic, and it's a major milestone on our journey to building one of the most complex items in the game.
Despite being a bit shorter, this episode really kicks off the vibe of the final phase of our late-game build—a blend of function, flow, and fun factory aesthetic.
⚙️ In This Episode:
🌀 Incorporating curved pipework for beautiful terrain integration
⚖️ Clean and efficient load balancing to prep for full production
⚡️ Dropping our first Particle Accelerator—the crown jewel of endgame factories
🧱 Laying more groundwork for the coming nuclear madness
If you're enjoying the ride to the radioactive endgame, be sure to like, comment, and subscribe! Got ideas or clever uses for particle accelerators? Let me know below. And don’t forget—Patreon, YouTube Memberships, and the Discord are always open for extra content and factory talk!
Next up: More accelerators, and maybe—just maybe—a whiff of nuclear pasta production.

About the game:
Satisfactory is a factory simulation game created by Swedish video game developer Coffee Stain Studios. It is a 3D first-person open world exploration and factory building game. The player, a "Pioneer", is dropped onto an alien planet with a handful of tools and must exploit the planet's natural resources to construct increasingly complex factories for automating all resource needs. The initial goal is to construct a space elevator and begin supplying the company the player works for (FICSIT Inc.) with increasingly numerous and complex components for their unknown purposes. These exports unlock access to new technology that make the next export possible. The factory building aspect of the game has been described as a first-person and 3D version of Factorio.
Satisfactory is played from the first-person perspective, and can be played up to four people cooperatively via private servers. The player takes the role of a FICSIT Pioneer, sent to a resource-rich planet and tasked with gathering and converting resources into raw materials and components to eventaully build out an automated factory and supporting infrastructure as to mass produce target goods and send them to FICSIT using a space elevator as part of its "Save the Day" project with unclear goals. The player makes planetfall on one of four different environments, representative of the initial difficulty within the game, but all areas of the map are available to use. The player is guided through a series of tiers by collecting resoruces and crafting enough items to complete each stage of the tier, through which they are rewarded with additional recipes and blueprints to expand their factory.
