I haven't posted anything in a while so I thought I would record something.
This is an example of a shot system made with arrays instead of objects
It does over 3x more shots on screen than normal game maker objects while maintaining the same FPS (With the YYC Compiler only, performance is worse on the normal compiler).
If you know Game Maker well you can make scripts to make managing patterns easy with this system! I'll make a future video showing off pattern creation, for now this video just contains a random spray and is more of a "proof of concept".
This video may be boring for most people as it's mostly coding/trouble shooting!
