Hello everyone! How are you? I hope you are all well and with good health 😃.

My name is Velpa, and I am dedicated to completing retro videogames (from the first to the fourth generation) in No Damage conditions and without savestates, and this time I bring you Sonic 3D Blast for the Sega Genesis, a game that we will break to its very essence in order to complete it without receiving a single hit. Are you ready?

🎮🎮🎮 WHAT DOES "WITHOUT SAVESTATES" MEAN? 🎮🎮🎮

It means that in case I receive a hit anywhere in the game, I do not return to the beginning of the level or the section in which I am, but to the beginning of the game. This condition greatly increases the difficulty of the game, but also adds a touch of magic and adrenaline to it that makes the experience very enjoyable.

🎮🎮🎮 MY PERSONAL RULES ON THIS RUN 🎮🎮🎮

-No Damage. I won't count Flickies stopping following Sonic because I think that brings some interesting gameplay.
-No powerups/items: this includes Shoes and Shields of any kind and also Invulnerability, but excludes rings.
-Avoid certain kills: I want to make some fights as epic as possible because that's my style when playing videogames so in some cases I know there are faster/easier ways to do a fight, but I am purposefully and intentionally making them more difficult, makes it more challenging and enjoyable to me and hopefully some of you also!

🎮🎮🎮 MY STYLE WHEN DOING NO DAMAGE RUNS 🎮🎮🎮

Personally, I love a No Damage Run that is full of style and aggressiveness. With style, I mean things like joking with enemies/bosses (maybe something like trying different combos that might do less damage and make the fight longer, and maybe involves a higher risk, but is funny and entertaining to watch), and with aggressiveness, I mean things like getting myself into positions where it's very easy for me to take damage (maybe something like fighting in the middle of the room instead of cornering myself and making use of the fact that enemies can't attack past a certain point, what is more technically known as the player being out of bounds for the enemy range of attack). I only play safe mostly when it's absolutely necessary (to avoid bad RNG/randomness near the end of a run, for example). So if you love these qualities as much as I do, then it's pretty much guaranteed that you'll have a lot of fun watching this run and the other ones that I have uploaded to my channel! 😊 .

The introduction isn't actually part of the run itself. I mean, while I did watch the opening cutscene in some of my attempts, I didn't in all of them, so I edited the video afterwards.

Also, super important I was almost forgetting!! I used Fusion instead of Bizhawk (that's usually my preferred choice for Genesis games, well, lately) because maybe it's the lesser input lag (it's just 1 frame but it may make more of a difference than I originally thought) or whatever, but this game specifically plays way, way more comfortable with Fusion. I'll keep it in mind for future games, as I said I didn't notice it as much in other games, but here it is very much noticeable. The game plays a lot smoother also.
