I Uncovered A Gold Rush Era Root Cellar, With Treasures Buried 8 Feet Underground. Lot 32

On the corner of my property, there is what looks like an old root cellar, or possible tunnel underground. I have heard stories of tunnels under this old ghost town, though many have collapsed over the past 100 years, but could this have been one of them? I can confidently say it is not, but it is fascinating never the less.

I have not entered into this tunnel since buying the property, simply because of the number of spider webs, but I never thought it would be anything other than just a hole in the ground. I could see that there were tires supporting the edges, but anything else about this mystery hole was exactly that... A mystery!

We started out removing tires from the outside of the hole, and quickly realized that the tires went far deeper in and far deeper down than we could have imagined. In fact, I think we removed nearly 100 tires from this hole, and there is still more underground. What surprised me the most was the amount of "treasures" found once the tires were removed. With the hole reaching 8 feet underground, items are still coming up in each bucket load.

I have been planning for this build for a few weeks now, but I certainly didn't factor in finding so much stuff in this hole. That being said, I have pretty darn satisfied with the hole and the outhouse to come.
